I am a lawyer who has practiced family law for over 30 years. In addition, I practice in several other areas, such as criminal law, juvenile law, adoptions,paternity/parentage, property division, alimony/maintenance, orders of protection, emancipation, landlord/tenant, guardianships, powers of attorney, mental health law, DCFS appeals, etc. I am also certified as a mediator and approved as a guardian ad litem in three circuits. I began my career with legal services. Most of my cases involved domestic violence to a parent or minor children or both. Subsequently, I went into private practice with another law firm where I mostly practiced family law. Afterwards, I opened my own practice in 1999. During that time I became a part-time Assistant Public Defender, where I practiced criminal law, juvenile law and mental health law. I worked on many cases involving DCFS.
