Jerry Hopkins, former hearing officer for Driver Assessment and Appeals Division, was a hearing officer for the Secretary of State Driver License Appeals Division for over 30 years (before returning to private practice). As a hearing officer he presided over more than 30,000 hearings related to drivers who were attempting to convince the State to return their driving privileges'. These hearings included cases where driving privileges had been revoked, denied, or suspended because of drunk driving, driving under the influence of drugs, too many points, accidents, or medical issues.
