The office of the District Attorney of the County of Dutchess in the state of New York is located in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. It is an independently elected public office and prosecutes on behalf of the People of the State of New York, all crimes committed in the county. It is also responsible for state institutions and correctional facilities.
